Outdoor Dementia Resource Centre is hosting a series of open days in the coming months, offering people a chance to learn more about the project. The days are open to anyone interested in the project.

Nominate an Accessible Green Space
A new interactive map for nature connection is being created with the help of the Green Health Small Grant Fund 2023. The map will feature accessible green spaces in the Highlands for people to visit and connect with nature, similar to this one of Ardery Woods.

The Cairngorms Creative Directory
The Cairngorms Creative Directory showcases more than 80 creatives working in the Cairngorms National Park who are keen to support green health initiatives through the use of creative arts.

Inspirational Winners Announced at the Scottish Walking Awards
The Scottish Walking Awards took place during National Walking Month last month, delivered in partnership with Paths for All, Ramblers Scotland and Living Streets Scotland.
Congratulations to all of the winners, including Joshua Adeyemi who was named as the Overall Champion of the Scottish Walking Awards!

Promoting the Benefits of Cycling for Health and Wellbeing
Tim Allison, director of public health, and colleagues are cycling from Inverness to Mull of Kintyre to promote the benefits of cycling for health and wellbeing.
Beginning in 2011, the rides take place annually with the number of riders varying each year, reaching up to 100 people in some sections!

Have you submitted you nominations for the Highland Third Sector Awards?
Get your nominations in now! Nominations are open until Wednesday, June 18 at 5pm.
SRUC Natural Leader Prize
The SRUC Natural Leader prize is open to young people aged 16-25 who are passionate about the environment and sustainability issues.
To enter, submit a video up to two minutes long or write 500 words in response to the statement: “I’m a Natural Leader because…”
Entries must be submitted to [email protected] by Monday, October 2.
Funding
Siorbheas Grant Programme
Siorbheas believe that protecting the environment is the foundation for sustaining the community, economy and planet.
The team is looking for support groups with ideas that will help sustain the environment, wildlife and climate of Strathglass and Glenurquhart to apply to the Siorbheas Grant Programme. The organisation is also on the lookout for any conservation, environmental or climate groups interested in being featured in its new green directory.

The Highland Environment Forum
With 500 members (and increasing), the Highland Environment Forum features public bodies, third sector organisations, land managers, private businesses and interested individuals.
The forum works together to:
Foster and coordinate activity on environmental matters
Provide a link between local groups and national strategies, action plans and reporting
Identify and respond to emerging environmental agendas

Research
A report from NatureScot and partners has highlighted the need for school children to be more connected to nature and how they could be offered increased amounts of outdoor learning and play, stimulating a post-pandemic generation’s connection to nature and benefits.

Paths for All has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a development officer within the community paths team!
The role includes supporting the delivery of the Ian Findlay Path Fund grants programme to a wide range of community organisations to encourage involvement in path-related projects.
